At the BNITM’s arthropod facility, various mosquito species are reared, including native as well as invasive and exotic species. These are used by different research groups to study mosquito-borne pathogens and mosquito ecology. The facility includes two large climate chambers, a larval rearing room, and several incubators.

To support public understanding of mosquitoes and the diseases they transmit, the arthropod facility works closely with BNITM’s communications team.
