Arthropod Breeding Facility at the BNITM

In the arthropod breeding facility at the BNITM, various mosquito species are bred, including native, invasive and exotic species. These are used by various research groups to study mosquito-borne pathogens and mosquito ecology. Two large climate chambers, a larval rearing room and several incubators are available for keeping the mosquitoes.

The arthropod breeding unit works closely with the BNITM's public relations department to support public understanding of mosquitoes and the diseases they transmit.
